When Do You Need A Complete Tummy Tuck

A complete or full tummy tuck is usuall for people with huge amounts of skin and adipose (fat) tissue. If you carry an excess of skin or higher amount of fat, you will need to get this procedure done.
One of the differences between a partial abdominoplasty and a complete one is the incision. The incision for the complete adominoplasty procedure is from hip bone to hip bone in the lower ab region. And there is an additional incision at the belly button area.
The complete tummy tuck has many more issues to consider. It will take a few hours to finish…but this all depends on how big the procedure is, and how much work the surgeon has to perform.
With a longer surgery comes more risk. The recovery will be longer as well. If you are in surgery for more than 4-6 hours you may be required to stay overnight.
After a full abdominoplasty you will have a moderate amount of discomfort. If you have a high pain threshold, you may be released in a matter of a few hours. The amount of discomfort all depends on tight your surgeon made your inner girdle area. Participating in moderate exercise will induce better healing by helping to reduce the inflammation (swelling) and also any risk of a blood clot.
With the incision being so big for a complete tummy tuck, the scar will be much more noticable than a mini abdominoplasty. In many instances, the scar is quite visible, but that is price you pay if you need the full procedure.
